As you may be aware the SA Government has been working on a state-wide mobile phone policy for SA schools which will be officially released in January 2023.
The new policy will require students to have their phones switched off and away from the start of the school day until the end of the school day. Phones will not be able to be accessed during break times.
This is a change from our current local policy and, as a result, Term 1 will be used to develop processes, communicate with students and families and work through any required exemptions to the policy or other queries that may arise. We aim to implement the new policy from the start of Term 2.
Further information on the move to this policy, including the opportunity to provide input into our school implementation, will be provided at the start of the school year and throughout Term 1 2023.
