About the Project
Brighton Secondary School is very excited to share details of our Spence Toilet Refurbishment.
The Spence Toilets are currently underway to be refurbished to improve the quality and access of facilities for all students.
Between the 2 toilet blocks, the refurbishment will provide:
- 14 all-gender toilets accessible to all students,
- 2 accessible all-gender toilets, and
- 1 staff toilet.
It will help create accessible toilets for gender diverse students, more toilets available for all students to access, and reduce the space for congregation in such facilities
Impact on Site Access
Minimal site restriction will apply during this project. The Spence western stairwell will be closed to staff and students during the construction phase and site compound will be installed on the northern side of the Spence Building.
Alternative toilets available to students during the project include:
- Tarni Warra (for Year 8 and 9 students),
- The Library/Bright Centre,
- The southern side of the gymnasium, and
- Toilets in the new Senior Centre will also soon be available to Year 11 and 12 Students.
Toilets are also available to students during lesson time where their class is using a specialist facilities such as the Theatre, Concert Hall, and Volleyball stadium.
Students are reminded to not use staff toilets.
