Term 4 is always a bittersweet experience for year 12 students with a variety of mixed emotions. Many students are excited to leave, many are sad to go and the vast majority experience a bit of both emotions. I would like to extend my congratulations to all year 12 students and families on reaching the end of their formal schooling and being at the brink of beginning the next chapter in your lives. This transition to the next phase in life is an exciting step in your journey, and I want you to know that whatever the future holds, you will always be a part of the extended Brighton family.
The lead-up to the final day of year 12 was exciting with a variety of planned activities, which included a ‘dress up day’. These activities provided an opportunity for year 12 students to celebrate reaching the end of their schooling with the entire school community. On the final day of school, we celebrated the Class of 2022 with a catered breakfast and the morning culminated with students and staff reflecting on the high school experience at Brighton Secondary School and discussing the variety of future pathway opportunities for students.
Following the official last day of school many students continued to access assistance and support from their teachers at school, especially those students with an examination component to their subjects. They spent many hours at school revising and preparing for their examinations. It is also pleasing to note that many students have already been offered early entry to a range of university courses in 2023.
Year 12 Formal
The Year 12 Class of 2022 celebrated their Formal at a glamorous event that was held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday 16 September. This was an opportunity for students to shine and they certainly did, with no stone being left unturned in the lead up and preparation for the premier event of the year. All students looked amazing in their elegant and well-chosen formal attire. It was a jovial and fun-filled evening.
Year 12 Valedictory
The Year 12 Valedictory Ceremony was held on Monday 28 November at Her Majesty's Theatre, where students were acknowledged with subject excellence awards and valedictory awards.
